ELF:Talks ART is the first in a series of talks to be organised by the East London Fawcett Group; planned to generate considered campaigns that identify and address inequalities that women still face in all sectors of contemporary society.
There will be a panel comprising leading figures in the Arts, which will be developing lines of enquiry into the following statistics:
· 66% of people working in the music industry are men
· 47% of women in the music industry earn less than £10,000
· 83% of artists in the Tate Modern are men
· 70% of artists in the Saatchi Gallery are men
· 70% of artists nominated for the Turner Prize have been men
